If you don't need all the typographic features of Apple's Font panel (the Font panel that appears in Cocoa apps like TextEdit), you can use a much smaller version. Just click-and-drag the bottom-right corner of the regular Font panel and it will automatically reconfigure itself into a much smaller one-row panel, with just three pop-up menus (rather than windows), giving you access to the most-used Font panel functions. When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that the Font panel can morph into an entirely different scheme (from scrollable windows into pop-up menus) on the fly. Even if you don't use the Font panel, it's worth trying it once just to see this amazing technology at work. Regular dialog Same dialog, super small |
