Ghosting, or backscreening, a photographic image is another very effective design technique. This is a fantastic way to isolate text, logos, or other graphic elements in a photographic image. Simply choose the areas you wish to ghost, or screen (using the selection tool of your choice). Bring up the Levels dialog, and move the midtone Input Levels slider (the one in the center) toward the left. Note: When placing text over a ghosted area, be sure to lighten it enough so that your text will be legible. |
