Many digital cameras embed the sRGB color space into their photos, but most photographers choose to use Adobe RGB (1998) as their Photoshop color space instead. Because of this "mismatch," every time you open a photo from your camera, you get a "mismatch" warning, and that can get really old. Luckily, Adobe felt your pain, and in Photoshop CS there's a way to have Photoshop globally ignore the embedded sRGB profile in your digital camera images, thereby alleviating the warning dialog. Just go under the Photoshop menu (PC: Edit menu), under Preferences, and choose File Handling. In the File Handling Preferences, turn on the checkbox for Ignore EXIF Profile Tag, and the sRGB tag will be ignored. |
