Chapter 12 - Writing an Application
byJohn Kauffman, Fabio Claudio Ferracchiatiet al.?
Wrox Press ?2002

Well, congratulations! This book has covered a lot of ground, but at the end of it all we hope that we've managed to show you how easy it can be to create data-enabled web applications. This case study has been a distillation of many of the topics discussed in earlier chapters, and we've showed you how to put those concepts into practice when building an application.

In particular, we've looked at how to manipulate data within the ASP.NET pages. The importance of this cannot be stressed too highly - it's these sort of dynamic features that really make a web application shine. You can customize the output of pages not only on the data, but also on other factors such as user details. This gives you the ability to build great user interfaces in a simple and easily maintainable manner.

After all, what it's really all about is making it easier to create great sites - and ASP.NET does that.
