Chapter 12.   Visual Basic .NET Migration Case Study

This chapter has given a general functional description of the PMS. The complete flow of the system has been presented as a flowchart. The chapter has also covered technical features used for development and database design and listed components in the system. So far the discussion has been general and applicable to all three languages: Visual Basic 6.0, Visual C++, and ASP.

Finally the chapter gives a developmental overview of the system for Visual Basic 6.0. Screen layouts for forms and reports along with components behind every screen have been discussed. In line with the migration methodology presented in the book, issues related to migration have been discussed for migrating PMS to Visual Basic .NET. The next two chapters will carry similar discussions for system development in Visual C++ and ASP.
