Citrix introduced user policies in Feature Release 2 for MetaFrame XP. Citrix user policies are similar in nature to Group Policies but are restricted to controlling only Citrix Presentation Server related settings. They are configured from within the CMC and can be applied to groups or specific users. They are particularly useful in configuring settings such as locking down the number of sessions a user or group of users can have, or in setting shadowing permissions. Citrix policies allow an administrator to turn on and off the following options per group or user:
– Local drive/printer/port mapping
– Shadowing options and permissions
– Concurrent login sessions
– Content redirection
– Time zone controls
– Encryption settings
– Auto-client update
