Citrix Resource Manager may be used to supplement the monthly subscription fee model by billing users for some applications per minute of connection time. It also enables billing by memory utilization and/or processor utilization. A semiconductor manufacturer, for example, might utilize a common manufacturing application requiring a huge amount of RAM per user . Resource Manager can add a supplemental fee for the inordinate amount of server resources that manufacturing users consume .
Resource Manager can create its own billing reports , which can be delivered directly to users or can be imported into another accounting or ERP application.
Resource Manager provides the capability of going through the domain structures and creating bills for users or groups. Resource Manager enables billing by user or by cost center using the Windows Domain structure, or you can create your own cost center assignments. For example, you might bill by office or by department. Users in different geographical locations can automatically be charged in their own currency.
Billing reports can be constructed to show resources used, session start time, session elapsed time, process loaded time, CPU time, memory utilized, and process active time. Figure C-1 shows a screen print from a Resource Manager report.
