3.18 SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER READING

3.18 SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER READING

Within the various sections of this chapter, we have already provided forward pointers to other places in the book where the relevant concepts are discussed in greater detail.

The references cited in the "Suggestions for Further Reading" section of Chapter 2 are also valid for the concepts laid out in this chapter. To add to those sources, the reader is referred to [54, pp. 723-787], [6, pp. 27-80], and [16] for extended discussions related to the fundamental notions of encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism; to Section 13.10 of the book by Lippman and Lajoie [50] for a more thorough treatment of nested classes in C++; and to the book by Flanagan [19] for an easy-to-read discussion on the abstract classes and interfaces in Java. The reader will also find the on-line source [10] useful for language-specific details concerning C++. The material on simulating object orientation in C was inspired by the discussion in [25].
