Resource Discovery and Monitoring

The complex grid environment, with a number of dynamic behaviors and complex geographical distribution, introduces a number of challenges, including discovery, optimization, classification, aggregation, and monitoring of sharable resources.

These resources can be broadly classified as computational data resources. In order to reduce this complexity from the end user of the grid system, a number of information services are generated with fundamental capabilities of resource discovery, classification, and monitoring. Once the clients are able to discover and monitor these resources, these resources will help clients to plan the resource utilization, and can then adapt clients to the application behavior. These types of services are generally classified as information services.
