Translating Words

Word offers basic translation capabilities with the Translate task pane. With the right bilingual dictionary installed on your computer, you can translate specific words or short phrases, selected text, or an entire document. If you need more extensive translation capabilities, you can connect to translation services on the World Wide Web directly from the Translate task pane.

Translate a Word

Select the word you want to translate.

Click the Tools menu, and then click Research.

Click the Reference list arrow, and then click Translation.

Select the language you want the word translated to.

Copy and paste the translated word into your Office document.

When you're done, click the Close button on the task pane.
