Setting Up Layout Guides

Each page of a publication ”like any business letter ”should have uniform margins. This gives your publication a consistent, professional look. Since a publication is composed of many elements (which may have their own margins), each page is controlled using layout guides. Since they are automatically included in each page of a publication, layout guides are located on background pages. In publications with mirrored pages, any adjustment made to one page is automatically reflected on its companion page.
