Viewing Items and Folders

When you use Outlook, you work with views. The main views in Outlook are Mail, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, Notes, and Shortcuts. Within those views, Outlook stores related items in folders. For each of these views, you can choose how to display the items and folders in which you stored the items.

View an Item

Click a view bar or icon on the Navigation pane to switch to that Outlook view.

Click the Current View list arrow to display the available options.

Click the view you want to apply.

View a Folder

Click the Folder List icon on the Navigation pane.

Click a folder in the Folder list.

Did You Know?

You can customize a view . Click the Current View list arrow, and then click Define Views. Use the dialog box to create a new view or modify existing view options to better suit your working environment or needs.

You can display views . Click the View menu, point to Arrange By, and then click Show Views In Navigation Pane to list views in the Navigation pane (as well as in the Current View list box).
