Executive summary

The twenty-first century world we are entering is very different from the one that we have known. To navigate through it we will need to use our imagination as never before. If you dont feel uncomfortable, if you think that only trendy firms can innovate or that you are powerless, then it is unlikely that you will navigate successfully. Others, the new Navigators, will do it for you as they are better equipped to handle the turbulence.

To live in this world you will need to rewire your head . If you can do this, you will find a world with no boundaries. You will be free to explore and act in a way beyond the machine thinking that has dominated our whole social and economic structure. New possibilities will emerge beyond the complacency and seductiveness of same-old-same-old commoditised thinking.

If you feel that this summary is all a bit too much, then skip this chapter and try to find some other device to excite your imagination and curiosity . However, if it has made you feel a bit uncomfortable and you quite like the fact that it is not in traditional management-speak, then please read on, as it might be that your attitude is right for the new space of the future.
