What Do You Mean, "Basic"? By "basic" ActionScript, I mean ActionScript that deals with the fundamental building blocks of Flash movies and interactivity: movieclips, the mouse, the keyboard, buttons , sounds, text fields, and the Stage. For discussion of these fundamental objects, other core ActionScript objects such as Date, Number, and String, and custom objects ( belonging to classes that are not built in but created by a programmer), see Chapter 21, "Advanced ActionScript," page 539 . To work up to these basic building blocks, this chapter also covers variables , data, datatypes, operators, statements, and functions. |
