Introduction

As networks continue to become interconnected , businesses are always looking for cost effective and practical ways to implement routing. The option is always available to purchase high-end dedicated complex routing solutions; however, with Windows 2000, a simple, efficient, and effective routing solution is built in to the operating system.

The Routing and Remote Access service enables a Windows 2000 Server to be turned into a network router and perform other network roles at the same time. This chapter examines how to implement IP routing using Windows 2000.
