In this chapter, you learned to access several types of help and documentation at the Linux desktop by employing different techniques and tools. You learned to access application-specific manuals and World Wide Web and email contact information by using the About option in the application's Help menu. You also learned to access a more general, systemwide set of documents and tutorial information using the help browser, by launching it from the Desktop menu. This documentation is intended for users new to the Fedora Core 4 desktop environment, and covers basic topics that apply to all applications. Also included are manuals for many desktop applications, games, and utilities. Finally, you learned to read shell command man pages, useful for learning to use the vast body of powerful commands available at the Linux command prompt. |
