For more advanced Linux users, the Console provides a text-based way to perform administrative tasks on your computer. There are a variety of reasons why you might want to use the Console rather than a graphical tool, but the bottom line is that it simply comes down to preference. Many advanced Linux users find that using the Console is a quick way to perform several tasks at once. There are a vast number of commands that can be executed within the Console.
Click on Launch . The Launch menu will appear.
Click on Programs . A list of program categories will appear.
Click on Utilities . A list of utility programs will appear.
Click on Console . This will open the Console.

Press Enter . The command will be executed.
