Chapter 1. Visual Basic .NET Database Programming
This was quite a beginning. We've already come a long way. We looked at what databases are, their history, and how they are structured. We took a quick tour of ADO .NET and discovered its basic components . We then built a console database application to demonstrate the basic approach to accessing data with ADO .NET. Then we took a look at a full-featured Windows database application with full updating capability. We learned that ADO .NET is a powerful but very complex tool. We've only scratched the surface in this chapter. In the chapters that follow we will dig deep. Let's continue the journey, shall we?
