Business Environment Interface Concepts

Today's business environment is linked to and involved in the project management environment more than ever before. To that end, project management training is no longer limited to just project managers and project team members. There are quite a few adjunct project staff and other stakeholders in and around the relevant organization who would gain tremendous benefit from participation in training conducted in the project environment. To say the least, today's senior managers and executives need to be familiar with project management concepts and practices in order to make critical business decisions related to project management efforts. The PMO has responsibility for identifying such business environment participants and then constructing and implementing a training program of relevant project management topics to meet their needs.

The ensuing benefits and success from training in the project management environment can have strategic significance for the relevant organization. When training benefits are properly captured, the PMO can use them in capability statements and other business and marketing documents to advertise the competitive advantage that the relevant organization has gained by establishing a formal training program within its project management environment.
