Summary

In this chapter we looked at a variety of different advanced subjects related to running and managing your Ubuntu system. Installation, removal, and upgrade of software using the Add Programs dialog and using Synaptic were discussed. We've also discussed the installation and use of several different types of hardware devices, including an in-depth look at printing. We've perused some of the methods of accessing remote files and offered a crash course in the powerful Ubuntu terminal. Finally, we've looked at a possibility for running certain programs written for Microsoft Windows under Ubuntu.
