Downloading the Code

Before we get into the details of the protocol, let's write a couple of applications that will give you a feel for using it. Begin by downloading the JAR file needed for compilation of Web service clients and servers; the code is available at www.caucho.com/hessian/index.xtp. Near the bottom of the page is a table of binary, source, and test code. Select the option for the latest binary and download the JAR file into its own directory or into a directory on the classpath of the Java compiler and VM. For this chapter, we chose the location c:/data/resin/hessian for Windows and /home/resin/hessian for Linux.
