What Is an Event?

Simply put, an event is something that Macromedia Flash MX can recognize and react to. Events are actions that occur while a movie plays. For example, a mouse button is full of events. A button click and rollover are events that take place within that button. All mouse movements are events. With so many Events going on, Flash needs a way to detect and react to them. This is done through Event handlers.
