Stopping a running server is considerably less complicated that starting it in the first place. The exact method you use depends largely on how the server was started. By design, the most common method of stopping a WebLogic server is from the console of the Administration server that controls itthat is, either its own Administration console or, in the case of Managed servers, from the console of the Administration server. ConsoleTo stop a server from the Administration console that controls it, right-click on the server instance you want to stop and select "Stop this Server" from the pop-up list. This method works for both Administration and Managed servers. Windows StopIf you started WebLogic as a Windows application, you can of course stop it by closing the application window in which it is running. This is not the preferred method, however. If possible, you should try to stop it from the Administration console as described above. Windows ServiceIf your WebLogic server has been installed as a Windows service, you should stop it using the tools provided by Windows for working with services. Depending on the version of Windows you are using, this should be something like the following: |
