In this chapter you learned about the hardware and software requirements for installing WebLogic server. The installation process is generally pretty painless. It involves a little patience and a couple of not-very-difficult administrative decisions. WebLogic Server v.6.x may be installed via either GUI (preferable on Windows systems) or command line (commonly associated with Unix) methods . At this writing, WebLogic Server 7.x installations are always GUI-based.
