When you install, you are prompted to migrate personal data. You probably want to mark this option. The data migrated to the current installation includes: -
Text document, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing and user preferences. This includes files for colors and hatches like . sob and . soh files. -
Any user settings for user information: AutoCorrection, Autotext, backup preferences, backup directory, Internet (Proxy) settings, gallery, plugins, templates, wordbooks, your standard work (data) folder ( copied to your home directory for Solaris users and the My Documents folder for Windows users), and user dictionaries. -
To keep your customized menu, keyboard, statusbar and toolbar configurations, locate the . cfg file ( office52/user/config/soffice.cfg ). Load it into the current release of the program by choosing Tools > Configuration > Load. The following user preferences and data are not migrated automatically and should be updated manually: math symbols, paths settings, module settings in the Tools > Options windows, bookmarks, Calc addins, and basic macros. It does not migrate email data or preferences; see Migrating Your StarOffice 5.2 Mail to Another Mail Program on page 47. |
