You can have Calc automatically fill in text as you're entering it. Using the AutoInput feature (Tools > Cell Contents > AutoInput), Calc matches the text you type in a cell against text entered in the same column. For example, if the name Derek Smalls is entered in a column, and you type the letter D in another cell in that column, Calc automatically fills in the rest of the word for you. So all you'd have to do is type D and press Enter to put another Derek Smalls in a cell. However, if the name Derek Smalls is in a cell and the name David St. Hubbins is in another cell in that column (both start with D ), Calc waits for the next unique letter before it tries to AutoInput the text. |
