HTML Document Options

This section covers setup options under Tools > Setup > HTML Document. For print options, see Web Printing Options on page 493.

If you want to use Bringing Up a Web Page on page 438 or Using Web's Search Connection on page 438, both of which you can do very satisfactorily in your own browser, ignore all setup options. They're off in Chapter 5, Setup and Tips , on page 95, since you can use the features in any application. If you really want to do either of those procedures, go to Setting Up Proxy Information for Internet Access on page 135 and Setting Up the Ability to Search the Web on page 136.

HTML Import and Export Options

These options are set under Tools > Options > Load/Save > HTML Compatibility. See Setting Up How the Program Reads and Exports HTML Files on page 142.

Specifying the Default Page Background

Choose Tools > Options > HTML Document > Background. Select a color to have all new HTML documents have that color background by default, or select No Fill.

Specifying the Color For HTML Source Code

Choose Tools > Options > HTML Document > Source. Select the colors you want.

View Options

Choose Tools > Options > HTML Document > View. The window in Figure 13-1 lets you pick what parts of each HTML page are shown by default.

Note

You can choose to hide graphics here by deselecting the Graphics and objects option. You can load graphics on a page by page basis by right-clicking and choosing Load Graphics.

Grid Options

You can set the dimensions for a grid, which you can display, and snap objects to. (Snapping to the grid means objects you create, insert, or move will be aligned with the closest gridpoint.) Use the Grid window, shown in Figure 13-2.

The grid, when displayed, is a set of very faint dots, one at each point where the X and Y grid axes intersect. If you selected Visible grid and it doesn't seem to be visible, take a closer look at the work areait's just that the dots are light and far apart. You can't darken the grid display, but you can increase the number of dots by increasing the number of points in the Subdivision fields. This adds more dots to each line.
