"IT INCREASES THE NUMBER OF TIMES IT'S NOT GETTING CALLED."

JAMES HOWEY

The chapters so far have mostly covered concepts pertaining to package internals and building packages in the design time environment. As the name implies, SQL Server Management Studio, or just Management Studio, provides the management functions for Integration Services. You'll likely use the design tools for packages as they work their way through your development and testing processes. However, eventually, the packages will land in their final production location in SQL Server or on a server file system. From that point forward, you'll likely store, organize, maintain, and execute those finished packages using Management Studio.
