Clipping


Clipping is the process of discarding the portions of the objects or their polygons that fall outside the current view. This is a part of the rendering pipeline that is handled for us by DirectX and the video card with no help required. Certain commands let us modify the clipping planes, but these are needed only for advanced tweaking of the clipping process, and therefore will not be covered in this book.
