Things To Consider

Good menus start with good design decisions.

  • When designing your DVD menus, or doing any sort of titling, lean toward a sans serif font, such as Arial or Impact, which are easier to read.

  • If the background will be moving, or has a pattern, put a drop shadow or glow on your text for a contrasting edge. Although you don't have to worry about being broadcast safe, stay away from saturated colors like bright reds and yellows.

  • Don't forget about safe areas ”10 percent for Action Safe and 20 percent for title safe.
