We've covered a lot of ground in this chapter. We've discussed the ODBC, OLE DB, JDBC, and native types of connections and demonstrated how to use Dreamweaver MX to create those database connections types in ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, JSP, and PHP web applications. Keep in mind that all this database connection information is written from a Dreamweaver MX state of mind. You can connect to a database in many more ways than Dreamweaver MX can currently handle and than we've shown in this chapter.
Now that you know how to use Dreamweaver MX to create a connection between a web application and a database, the next step is to use that connection to retrieve data from the database and display it on a web page. To do so, we'll explore the Dreamweaver MX-supported web scripting languages and look at how to use them to create database-driven sites.
