Editing Within the Source Program Window

Rather than editing a binder section within the Binder window, you can edit it within a separate window provided by the document's source program (such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint). You might want to do this so that all the source program's commands are available or so that you can work in the more familiar environment provided by the source program. To edit a binder section within the source program, do the following:

  1. Activate the document by clicking its icon in the left pane.
  2. Choose View Outside from the Section menu. The source program will open a separate window displaying the document.
  3. When you have finished editing, exit the source program. The modified document will appear in the binder.

You might have noticed that this procedure is similar to that for editing an embedded object within the source program, as described in Chapter 35, "Sharing Data Among Office Applications."
